HOMEWARD BOUND

Christmas is a time for bonding with the family and hence I head in that direction. My family being the crazy one, always manages to make every such event a one to remember. Its that time of the year where the kids [my age and below] will be all quiet after midnight mass and watch the parents dance, crack jokes and make a complete ass of themselves. It’s so much fun. The mad dance steps which would have even looked funny in the 1970’s look funnier now, the attempts to jive and waltz always leaves behind some casualties and the best part is that everyone is engrossed and does not one to miss a moment of fun that we always forget to take snaps.

The two crazy uncles keep us in splits with their jokes and one liners and comments about everything and everyone. You can see the fear in everyone eyes if the feel my uncles are looking at them because that means you will be the butt of the jokes for the next 10 minutes or so and everyone else will join in. We do the whole Peter Russell thing with jokes about the various ethnicities, etc. then when it is time to show off our individual skills we have the singings cousins, the dancing cousins, the shy cousins and the invisible cousins who all come into prominence.

This time should not be any different and I look forward to another session of Christmas laughter therapy.
